The Cult of Cleo unfolds as a ceremonial act of reclamation.
Combining sculpture, moving image and live performance, the installation traces the gradual emergence of Cleo through ritual, image and theatrical action.
Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the work considers how stories are authored, distorted and reclaimed, and how representation shapes culture the way we see one another in day to day life.
Borrowing from psychology, acting ethos, fairy tales, folklore, psychological horror and cult cinema, The Cult of Cleo dismantles encountered, projected and inherited stereotypes and reassembles them into contemporary, symbolic art forms.

At its core, The Optics of Cleo is an act of reclamation, dissecting and reassembling stories through film, sculpture, sound and live performance.
