The Cult of Cleo unfolds as a ceremonial act of reclamation.

Combining sculpture, moving image and live performance, the installation traces the gradual emergence of Cleo through ritual, image and theatrical action.

Borrowing from psychology, acting practice, fairy tales, folklore, psychological horror and cult cinema, The Cult of Cleo treats theatrical conventions, inherited narratives and cultural stereotypes as raw material to be dissected, dismantled and reassembled into contemporary symbolic forms.

The Cult of Cleo is the opening chapter of The Optics of Cleo, a three-part multimedia theatre project by The Lucky Star Theatre Company.
